ABELMed Achieves Health Canada Class II Medical Device Licence
|
|
On July 23, 2010, ABELMed EHR – EMR / PM v11 achieved the Health Canada Class II Medical Device Licence. ABELMed EHR – EMR / PM v11 (local solution) is fully certified (OntarioMD CMS spec 3.0) and is eligible for funding in the province of Ontario.
In order to remain funding eligible, the local solution EMR products are required to achieve Class II Medical Device Licence. ABELMed is ahead of the competition and is one of the first to achieve the Class II Medical Device Licence. Our Vendor Collaborative Network is already approved by OntarioMD and offers a variety of services such as training, IT support, data and network security to ABELMed users.
Here are just a few of the several steps ABEL has taken to ensure that we offer a superior quality EMR software to health care professionals:
- ABEL obtained the Health Canada Class II Medical Device Licence on July 23, 2010
- ABEL obtained the ISO 13485:2003 Quality Management System certificate, a prerequisite for the Class II Medical Device licence, on June 7, 2010
- ABEL has designated a Quality Management System Officer and an Internal Auditor to ensure ongoing monitoring and maintenance of quality management processes
